The bridge course serves to consolidate the basic Mathematics knowledge from school. It begins in the morning with a lecture and ends in the afternoon with joint practice classes to consolidate the knowledge you have learned. Please log in to Bridge Course Mathematics.
The student council is made up of students elected by you to represent the interests of the students. It would like to make it easier for you to start your program of study with the preliminary course and help you settle in and find your way around here at the university.

The preliminary course complements the academic content of the bridge course with a rich program of activities that takes place in the afternoons: information sessions about the student council, your program of study, the campus, and the city of Mainz—and, of course, a wide variety of other activities where you can get to know your future classmates. In particular, you’ll be assigned a personal student mentor who will provide you with advising on all questions related to your program of study.
You can then really get started from 13 April 2026 with the lectures “Linear Algebra and Geometry I” (B.Sc., B.Ed.) and “Analysis I” (B.Sc.) or “Elementary Mathematics ” (B.Ed.).
You can find sample plans for the Bachelor’s program of study and the courses to be attended in the Mathematics download center.
The academic advisory office can answer questions about content, requirements, career fields and the recognition of credits.
As a body, the examination committee decides on all issues relating to examinations for the individual degree programs.
Proposals from students, for example for the renewal of examination deadlines, must always be addressed to the chairperson of the examination committee.
The Mathematics+Computer Science student council consists of all students studying a degree program in Mathematics or Computer Science, substitutes their interests in student and academic self-administration, and organizes many semester events.
