First things first: You must activate your university account<\/strong>. During the activation process, you will receive your student login name<\/strong> and assign a personal password. With your student login name and password, you can access your student e-mail inbox<\/strong> (at mail.uni-mainz.de<\/a>), the JOGU-StINe<\/a> web portal<\/strong> and the JGU learning platform Moodle<\/a><\/strong>. Information on activating your university account and JOGU-StINe can be found at info.jogustine.uni-mainz.de\/<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n<\/jgu-base-heading>\n\n\n\n

Students in the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)<\/strong> Mathematics degree program log in to JOGU-StINe in the Mathematics subject area for the module “Subject-specific and subject didactics requirements”<\/strong> and the associated course “Elementary mathematics from a higher perspective”<\/strong> as well as for the module “Fundamentals of Mathematics A: Linear Algebra”<\/strong> and the associated course “Linear Algebra and Geometry 1”<\/strong>.You can find instructions at Jogustine-BEd-Step-by-Step<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students in the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)<\/strong> Mathematics degree program log in to JOGU-StINe for the module “Analysis 1”<\/strong> and the associated course “Analysis 1”,<\/strong> for the module “Linear Algebra and Geometry 1”<\/strong> and the associated course “Linear Algebra and Geometry 1”<\/strong>. The minor subject selection<\/strong> is made in JOGU-StINe via “Area selection”<\/strong>. Only then is it possible to log in to modules and courses in the selected minor subject. You can find an overview of the available minor subjects with the corresponding courses in the examination regulations<\/a> and in the module catalog<\/a>.You can find instructions under Jogustine-BSc step-by-step<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Tuesday, 7.4.2026, at 13:00,<\/strong> you can log in to the JOGU-StINe web portal to register for modules and events in the subject of Mathematics. Information on registration phases<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/jgu-base-heading>\n\n\n\n

All events for which you have logged in to JOGU-StINe will appear in your dashboard<\/strong> of the JGU learning management system Moodle<\/a><\/strong> with a delay of about one day.In addition to the information in JOGU-StINe, you will receive further instructions on the organization of the respective event.Digital live events may take place in the Microsoft Teams<\/a> conference application. You will need a device with a camera, microphone and installed MS Teams app<\/a>. You log in to MS Teams with your student e-mail address (benutzername@students.uni-mainz.de) <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The introductory event will take place on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 1.15 pm to 3 pm in lecture hall C01, Duesbergweg(view map<\/a>).Here, the lecturers of the first semester lectures and other important contact persons will introduce themselves to you, and you will also learn everything you need to know about starting your studies, the JOGU-StINe web portal and the Moodle learning platform.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/jgu-base-heading>\n\n\n\n

The bridge course serves to consolidate the basic Mathematics knowledge from school. It begins in the morning with a lecture and ends in the afternoon with joint practice classes to consolidate the knowledge you have learned. The student council is made up of students elected by you to represent the interests of the students. It would like to make it easier for you to start your program of study with the preliminary course and help you settle in and find your way around here at the university. https:\/\/student-council.mathe-informatik.uni-mainz.de\/<\/a>The preliminary course complements the academic content of the bridge course with a rich program of activities that takes place in the afternoons: information sessions about the student council, your program of study, the campus, and the city of Mainz\u2014and, of course, a wide variety of other activities where you can get to know your future classmates. In particular, you\u2019ll be assigned a personal student mentor who will provide you with advising on all questions related to your program of study. <\/p>\n\n\n<\/jgu-base-heading>\n\n\n\n
