Wegbeschreibung zum Institut für Mathematik - How to find the Institute of Mathematics
From Frankfurt airport to Mainz Hbf (central station)
The train station is located in the basement of Terminal 1. The regional trains to Mainz (S8, direction Wiesbaden, or RegionalExpress, direction Koblenz or Saarbrücken) usually leave from platform 3. There is a train every 30 minutes. The ticket vending machines in the room above the platform have language buttons. Choose the number '65' for Mainz, then 'Einzelfahrt Erwachsene'. When asked, choose the route via Rüsselsheim, not via Frankfurt main station. The ticket price should be 3,90€. The machine takes coins and bank notes. If there is a problem, a help desk is nearby in which the ticket can be bought at the counter. The trip lasts about 20-30 minutes. Get off at 'Mainz Hauptbahnhof'. Your regional train ticket is valid for the bus trip to the university as well.
From Mainz central station to the institute
Leaving Mainz Hauptbahnhof (central station), turn right and take
the buses no. 9, 54, 55, 58 or 68 to the university.
Get off at the 3rd
bus stop ("Friedrich-von-Pfeiffer-Weg") and cross the street via the
pedestrian bridge.
From there you will easily find the institute, e.g. using the map of the campus.
